Boeing 747 in Vizag now

A 747 cargo (mostly National Airlines) arrived in Vizag from Cologne Germany today evening. It used the newly built parking bay instead of gate 6 as it always does. Aircraft was pushed back to runway instead of taxing. Maybe due to taxiway N5 not wide enough for turns.

National Cargo 803 a B747-428BCF has landed in Hong Hong Airport now. It arrived in Visakhapatnam from Cologne, Germany at around 5pm and departed at around 8pm to Hong Kong. It’s a special flight and not a regular service.

GMR signed an agreement to not have any airport within 150km Radius of HYD airport for 25 years. Something like this would have prevented Srikakulam Airport. Unless this airport comes around Palasa or Tekkali there is no need for a new Airport in Srikakulam

So far Visakhapatnam Airport is the only profit making airport in Andhra Pradesh. Rest all are in loses. Even after a lot of traffic and slot restrictions. Once Bhogapuram Airport is completed the passenger traffic can easily triple in less than 10 years.
