Imam Hasan al-Basri said: "Whoever performs acts of worship well and beautifully during their youth, Allah grants them wisdom in their older years." Then, he recited this verse from the Quran:

Sometimes, you don’t realise you’re living in an answered du’a until after the moment passes. Then, when you think back you realise, Allah truly answered you in ways better than you asked for.

If Allah had answered Yunus’ عليه السلام du’ā earlier, the whale would’ve coughed him out into the middle of the sea and he would’ve drowned. But out of His protection and mercy, Allah made him wait in the darkness, solitude and discomfort of the belly of the whale for a duration
