Equality and balance in first grade. Students learned about the = sign and used balances to show equal and not equal. Hands on learning leading to deeper understanding of equality and the meaning of equal.

So much great stuff happening this week in First Grade! Going down Story Road to retell “Say Hello to Zorro,” writing partner sentences to practice capitalization and punctuation, writing and sharing morning messages, & sorting and classifying. So many skills built into the fun!

1st Gr had so much fun acting as animals with our Wolftrap friend. They’ve learned that some resources go away or become scarce if we keep taking. Students also enjoyed Read Across America activities such as guest readers and reading as a whole school community Centre Ridge Rams

Timer set for 45 minutes to unpack, eat breakfast, and create leprechaun traps using supplies from a student-created list. Amazing what these first-graders accomplished by 9:15am and more importantly how they collaborated and shared resources and ideas. Engineers! Centre Ridge Rams
