Been watching Servant (Apple TV+) based on Lydia G's recommendation. An eerie, extended return to form for M. Night Shyamalan that nails his characteristic early tension. I haven't quite seen all the twists of the first season, but I expect good things.

Rewatching pieces of Midnight Mass, and can we just talk about how Hamish Linklater (monsignor) carries the whole damn show?

Just watched The French Dispatch with a friend. Absolutely loved it. Anderson's style mixed witht the french aesthetic works perfectly.

You know you’re a podcaster when you’re upset at yourself for saying something funny/insightful in real life instead of during recording.

The Master is an intimate and terrifying film, twisting and uninviting, but entrancing all the same - listen to us talk about it here: open.spotify.com/episode/5zcaRD…

So, I (Jozef) just watched Tick, Tick... Boom! It was really solid, but not outstanding. I think they really captured Larson's journey and hit on a real vein of authenticity, but beyond that, the actual music and characters aren't all that memorable and the plot just average.

[Jozef] I'm thrilled to see that Tony Zhou of "Every Frame a Painting" fame from Youtube has gotten a whole episode in Netflix's Voir to flex his film criticism chops. I loved his channel so much and was sad to see it go. The art of the film crit video essays owes much to him.
