Congrats to Brad McFeeters on his new paper, with co-author David Evans describing ontogeny and variation in the skull of #Maiasaura Check it out! #MaddinLab #DinosaursAreOkToo #FossilFriday #paleontology #dinosaurs app.pan.pl/article/item/a…

Challenging year, but another fierce #womenInScience completed yet another awesome thesis. Cool empirical results implicating the role of the forebrain in skull development in a frog. Master Erin McKenzie is off to Oxford for clinical embryology. Good luck! #MaddinLab #EvoDevo

Thrilled to have launched our first PalEO event! An astonishing 33 participants from our three Capital Region institutions (Carleton University, Université d'Ottawa | University of Ottawa, Museum of Nature) joined to meet. Members will peer-mentor each other in key skills ranging from photography to database mining.

Congrats to Dr. Arjan Mann and Dr. J. Pardo on identifying a new limb-reduced tetrapod! A keen eye reveals Nagini had small hindlimbs, but no arms! Special thanks to Hank Sharpe for bringing the beast to life.

Welcome Dr. McFeeters! Seen here in the Jurassic and Carboniferous of Nova Scotia, though he'd take the Cretaceous any day ;). Exquisite thesis completed on the ontogeny and morphology braincases of hadrosaurs, with evolutionary implications. #MaddinLab Carleton Earth Sciences

Sad to have missed #SVP2022 (not sad for the reason - new baby) but mega proud of the team representing the #MaddinLab. Great talks by @jadeinjoggins, Misha, Thomas Cullen and @DanaKorneisel, who was also this year’s Cohen Award recipient.

I'll be looking for an MSc or PhD student to take on some evo-devo research in my lab starting fall 2024. Skull and somite fate mapping, and brain-skull devo, in frogs and salamanders. DM or email me before the end of the calendar year! #MaddinLab
