This has long been my issue w/ fixating on #esg ratings. My understanding of ESG has always been that it is merely a label for #humanrights & environmental due diligence, & a means to account for the [human & enviro] costs that capitalism treats as externalities. #HRDD

From a #sustainability perspective, ESG issues r financially material even if not truly costed n our current econ models. If financial analysts, can valuate intangible assets (ex: goodwill & brand name), why not pollution, loss of livelihoods, food insecurity, water scarcity, etc
