Like all rational people I love individualism as well as the common good

This is one of the reasons why social liberalism/liberal socialism is the best political ideology. It is the only one which allows for human flourishing by recognizing both the value of individuals and the essential role of society and the state in promoting access to the good.

Conservatives openly don’t want you to be able to flourish. They deny your nature as a free and equal citizen, someone who was born to govern, not serve.

Just as individualism does not mandate capitalism, collectivism does not mandate socialism, as Bosanquet would argue.
