Really pleased to see planning permission given this week for the temporary conversion of the old Eltham Police Station site into Padel courts. We need to give people a reason to come to the High Street if we want to increase footfall and this does exactly that.

Looking forward to seeing it open, and of course remain committed to continuing our work to get a permanent police presence in Eltham as well as tackling anti-social behaviour on the High Street.

Great to have Gareth Bacon MP in #Eltham this afternoon at our end of summer tea and cake. Gareth’s insights into the current political situation and the importance of sticking to our principles were good to hear.

𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 Parking problems already hurt footfall on Eltham High Street—this will only make it worse. We’re calling on the Council to drop these plans and back our High Streets.

It was great to attend the Eltham Choral Society concert at St Mary's Eltham CCA this afternoon with Councillor Greenwell. These Friday afternoon concerts were supported by all three Eltham Town and Avery Hill councillors with funding from our ward budget.

Revealed: Just 60 fines issued to delivery bikes on Eltham High Street since Jan 2024 That’s fewer than 3 a month. Labour aren’t taking this seriously — we’ll be putting forward our plan next month to step up enforcement and fix it.

Meridian Home Start are revising their plans for Shepherds Leas near Falconwood — lowering the height from 7 to 6 storeys and replacing the turquoise façade with something more in keeping with the area. My thoughts and the new design below 👇🏼

Out this afternoon on the Avery Hill estate speaking to residents about the need for more parking. Avery Hill has very poor public transport links & most residents need to drive to get around. RBG needs to understand that different areas of the borough have different needs.

We know the spread of HMOs across the borough is a huge priority for residents. But the plans being brought forward aren’t going to even begin to address the issue. And when the Local Plan consultation goes live next week, make sure you tell Labour they’re weak, weak, weak.
