Seems ridiculous when the Universities who are refusing these applications are almost certainly graduating their own students with a similar lack of grades - solidarity to you, I hope these institutions gain some sense and you get your places confirmed

I’m a student who currently can’t find somewhere to live - University of Stirling has increased its student intake without providing more affordable accom, has increased rents which is directly affecting the cost of living, and meanwhile sits with reserves of millions of pounds

Solidarity from Stirling ✊ We cannot face further cuts to our education - from our institutions or our government!

Let’s be clear - on top of this, our university is looking at another rent increase to University accommodation cut Gerry’s salary instead. We cannot afford it, he can.

These course cuts are another symptom of a marketised education system which puts financial decisions over public good/knowledge - solidarity with Aberdeen UCU - I hope all students and staff in and around Aberdeen will be there on Monday

Having experienced homelessness due to high rents and an increase in student intake in Stirling, I find it absolutely appalling when education institutions increase rents during a cost of living crisis - we’re here to learn not to struggle to survive. We cannot afford it.

Thank you UCU Stirling Our solidarity between staff and students goes beyond support on the pickets - we attend staff external lectures, social events outwith industrial action to share campaign wins, and share ideas to fight for an education which puts all of us over profit
