𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐀𝐈 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐇𝐑 - what have we learned so far? 🧵 One year ago UC San Diego Health and Stanford Health Care were announced as pilot sites for generative AI in Epic, and we have both published initial outcomes in JAMA Network Open! (1/9)

The transition to assistant professor made me feel happy, free, confused, and lonely at the same time. I wrote a blog post about my first 100 days as a professor including things I tried that did or didn't stick

Common knowledge solves many problems, as most problems are common. I think about studies like this when I hear the debate over whether AIs generalize from training data (probably?) But even if they just acted as reasonable reflections of standard practices, that would be big.

Civilization VII was announced today. The Civ series is sort of like Ender’s Game, but for management rather than murdering aliens. Business school students who were good at Civ V also turn out to be better planners, organizers, and problem-solvers, in this small experiment.

The impact factor for Hepatology Communications is 5.6 This is a 10% increase (5.1 in 2023), at a time when virtually all US journal impact factors fell. It is a sign of growth and a solid position. It is also due to the way that Jeremy Louissaint promoted papers from before our teams tenure

Thanks to UCLA Health for covering our work. Truly a team effort at University of California Health.
