Very nice to catch up with the Black-throated Thrush in Bordon this morning, which showed unexpectedly well on and around the garden lawn - plus a decent selection of garden birds on the feeders including several Siskins. Hants Bird News

I was pleased to re-locate the female Red-footed Falcon in Coronation Pit this afternoon, which showed pretty well including one exceptionally close fly-past. Also a decent supporting cast of c10 Arctic Terns, a couple of Common Terns, two Hobbies and a calling Cuckoo. #rbnbdf

A decent day in East Yorkshire today with a pair of Garganey and two 1st-summer Little Gulls at Hornsea Mere (despite missing the Great Reed Warbler) and a distant Montagu's Harrier near Kilnsea, plus a scattering of more common migrants.

A steady day around Flamborough today and always a great spectacle to see the seabird colonies (including Puffins) at Bempton Cliffs. The best of the migrants included a male Whinchat at North Landing and a Spotted Flycatcher (plus a showy Tawny Owl) at South Landing.

A bit of urban birding in London yesterday afternoon - not much at Wanstead Flats besides the dodgy Ruddy Shelduck at Alexandra Lake (digibinned) but East India Dock had 6 Shelducks, Common Terns, a GBBG and a Reed Warbler. Ring-necked Parakeets and Egyptian Geese everywhere.

A productive last two hours of light at RSPB Otmoor y'day: 12+ Cattle Egrets into roost in the tree islands, 5+ Hobbies, likely several Marsh Harriers, a Bittern and a Sparrowhawk all from screen one - plus several Cuckoos, 3 Redshanks and 2 Oycs nearby. And a beautiful sunset!

Another great morning at RSPB Otmoor this morning added the Glossy Ibis, a Great Egret, 3 Curlews and a Shelduck to my midweek tally - along with the usuals. Also great to see Marsh Harriers passing food above the reedbeds.

Nice day at RSPB Frampton Marsh 🌍 for my 2nd-ever UK Collared Pratincole today. Also 16+ Spoonbills, 10 Spotshanks, several Ruff, Greenshank, Whooper Swan, Med Gulls, Wigeon and loads more (the recent Brent Goose has unfortunately perished). Absolutely loads of Avocets too.

Nice afternoon at Oare Marshes with the regular Bonaparte's Gull (eight years since I first saw it!) and several Med Gulls on East Flood, Cattle Egret over West Flood, 26 Whimbrels over in four groups, Hobby, Marsh Harrier and more. Water levels very low but still lots of waders.

Better late than never: the Zitting Cisticola showed (and sang) distantly but persistently at Walberswick Marshes this morning. Also Ruddy Shelduck and 2 Avocets on the shore pools and 31 Barnacle Geese, up to 9 Common Sands and some showy Bearded Tits up towards Tinker's Marsh.

The Baird's Sandpiper was the highlight of a fantastic variety of uncommon waders at Siblyback Lake today, along with a Grey Phalarope, 2 Pec Sands, 2 Curlew Sands and 2 Snipe. Also briefly got onto the Red-rumped Swallow as I arrived, a YLG and great scenery all around.

The Red-tailed (Turkestan) Shrike showed superbly well at times at Dunwich Heath this morning, especially first thing. It seemed to be feeding well so hopefully may stick a little longer.

A successful morning in Ramsgate with a few nice glimpses of the very skulky Radde's Warbler, tough to pin down but calling occasionally. Also several active Yellow-browed Warblers and a vocal Firecrest in the nearby trees.

Another trip out to Suffolk this morning for the Brown Shrike at Hollesley Common, which showed well on the fenceline after the sun emerged. Also a Crossbill and Redpoll over, plus 2 late Swallows.
