Revisiting Bloom Filter Efficiency in LSM Trees - thoughts from some recent readings .. Almost all LSM based storage structures use bloom filters in front of their memtable structures to reduce IO overhead at least for the target keys not present in the underlying secondary

LSM trees power some of the most popular databases like Cassandra, RocksDB, LevelDB, etc; but they suffer from a massive problem ⚡ Although they are a popular choice for write-heavy use cases, they see latency spikes under a heavy workload. This typically happens because

SIMD intrinsics is the way. Every single AVX algo we wrote for KnoxDB is hand crafted for maximum performance. A compiler could not have done that.

Ethereum is the last bastion of cypherpunk / 3,3 values because a lot of people & institutions in Ethereum got rich at a time when it was easier to do that while being idealistic. That is why I say 'ETH goes hard'--it will be the only ecosystem that truly cares about

I heard someone today say “we shouldn’t pretend Tornado Cash isn’t used for illicit purposes”. I don’t pretend Tornado Cash is used for one thing or another - it’s none of my business what people use software for.  It’s also not anyone else’s business what anyone does with their

This is what sustainable innovation and true DeFi means. Every new protocol feature benefits the token holders, the local ecosystem and the global on-chain economy.

No 1 rule for long-term investing in DeFi governance tokens: Look for how much of the value captured by a protocol is directly funneled back to token holders. - zero = unsustainable or scam (TAO) - 50% = gold standard (CRV) - more = too extractive, suspicious (SNX, VELO)
