Within my placement, I get to be with an advanced freshman class and a standard freshman class. I am still mind blown on how different the two classes are based on the atmosphere and the behavior of the students! #CIMT400

This week in the field, I stood up in front of the class and explained their worksheet. During this time, an office helper walked into the room (right past my host teacher) and tried to hand me the guidance office slip for a student. I guess I pass as a "real" teacher. #CIMT400

Today I played two truths and a lie with my students. Surprisingly, they had way more fun than what I anticipated. #CIMT400

This week in my EFE classroom, we are using song lyrics to relate to poetry. We are taking an everyday song played on the radio and finding the poetry terms embedded in them. #CIMT400

Today I feel accomplished! I finally had my students enjoying figurative language. I had them randomly selected song lyrics from a deck of cards. They collaborated, asked questions, and broadened their horizons on music. #CIMT400 #ToYoungForCher #DollyWho

I can't believe that some of these poems are still being taught today. #CIMT400

I had my students do this assignment the Friday before break. I don't know if they enjoyed tearing the old books and newspapers apart or making the poems more. It was a good day! #CIMT400

This is a really good read, and I also had my students creative write or read in the first fifteen minutes of class most days. I could see the improvement on their writing in only two weeks. #CIMT400

I was shocked to hear that some of us didn't have a wonderful experience in the field. I was fortunate to have a great host teacher and hopefully student teaching will be better for ArtEd_BestwithHess. You will do great things! #CIMT400
