The highlight of my day was seeing one of my former students and getting the chance to talk to her about her summer, how she’s doing, all about 1st grade, and telling her how much I miss her!! 💕 The relationships you build with students are so special! ❤️

We’ve been reading “The Mitten” this week. Today students got to draw and spell what their mitten could fit! I went around to each student and then had students stretch out the sounds in the word they wanted to spell… THEY DID AMAZING! 🥹🎉💜🚀

Yesterday, I took part in a Pathway Course on Chunking Reading. I left feeling motivated & pumped. Today, friends took part in our 1st try at Chunking --> It. Was. AMAZING!! The amount of learning & engagement was Of the Chain! #WarrenWill #RocketPower 🚀

Today, 3B worked together to determine the Author's Purpose and Point of View. They had deep discussions with peers and cited text evidence to support their reasoning. I love to watch them grow! ❤️📚 #RocketPower 🚀 #WarrenWill

We had “dress as your favorite hero” for Black History Month today. I chose Bessie Stringfield. STEM students got the last ten minutes of class to hear the book and then see my own motorcycle in action. I so admire her courage! eastridge elementary #BlackHistoryMonth

First graders have been learning about light and sound this week in STEM. Thanks to Mrs. Carson at LP for this cool idea! eastridge elementary

Although we just started our new math unit students have been doing a wonderful job on representing, making, and decomposing numbers 11, 12, & 13.

First grade got to try good old-fashioned cup phones to continue learning about how sound waves travel. They discovered that how loose or tight the string is makes a difference in how well it works. #pltw eastridge elementary #WarrenWill
