The Easington Academy 2025 ski trip has begun! 🎿🚠⛷️ From skiing at 2300 metres to flitzer time, the group are already having a blast! We can't wait to see what adventures the week has in store for them... 🎢

Last week, Easington students took part in the Salter's Institute Festival of Chemistry at Sunderland University where they enjoyed practical sessions learning to synthesise Aspirin. They also found out about new research taking place and career opportunities in the field.⭐

Some of our Year 8 and 9 girls took part in the Durham County Cricket foundation mini soft ball cricket on Friday and won 3 out of 4 games. There was also a run count where our girls came out on top with a total of 386 runs over the 4 matches. A huge well done!👏

A massive well done to students who competed in the Big Ideas Project regional finals. Both teams did an amazing job presenting their ideas to industry experts and our 'Greener Places Project' team have been chosen to compete in London at the national finals!⭐

Our Under 13 footballers had an amazing day out at the Collingwood College C5 football tournament at Durham University. They played brilliantly throughout, winning all five games and only conceding one goal. 🤩

Our Year 7 cricket team won a thrilling match against Redhouse School in the county cup by 1 wicket. An amazing bowling performance by Kyle B who took 5 wickets including a hat trick and top batting by Kyle B and Evie W got us to the target with 4 balls to spare. Great job!👏

This afternoon our chicks have left us to pastures new - our Caretaker's allotment! Students (and staff!) have loved watching our chicks hatch and grow over the last couple of weeks. We will keep you posted with any updates!🐣

Yesterday, a group of lucky of students went to see the hit musical Hamilton at the Sunderland Empire. They thoroughly enjoyed the performance and some of them even got the chance to meet the cast after the show!

We’re proud to share that top tumbler Harry returned from the Coimbra GymFest '25 Tumbling International Competition with two gold medals! 🥇🥇 He clinched gold in the 13–14 Boys' individual category and helped secure team gold too. What an incredible achievement!

Our stellar Year 7 cricket team will be marching into the final of the county cup, following a thrilling 5 wicket victory over Durham Johnston in the semi-final. Chasing a score of 83, we got over the line with 7 balls remaining. Our Star performers were Alex M and Kyle B! 👏 🏏

We had a garden party this past Friday, celebrating the hard work of our Year 7 and 9 students who took part in our "Fluency For All" reading programme. Students enjoyed cake, bingo and received certificates, recognising their hard work. Well done to all involved! 👏☀️

It has been a fantastic first day in the Capital! Our students spent the afternoon visiting the sights of London, stopping off at Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square. 🏰🎡
