It’s a big learning curve for us to enable to obtain good DNA sequences from single nematodes which we rely on for accurate ID This species is quite wide spread though no damage seen and more likely to be first time IDed in NSW cotton CRDC NSW Agronomy Australian Cotton Science

We never tried root dip for B. rouxiae before, but it appeared root damage in the assay may facilitate vas colonisation of B. rouxiae that we recovered from vas tissue F. oxysporum from non-wilted seedlings enabled to cause wilt disease though missing out some important genes

▪️This is from Linda Smith & her team. ▪️This Reniform Nematode found only in Cotton Fields in Central QLD. ▪️No spiral nematodes found in the study, but we found lots of them in cotton in NSW. ▪️Full access at mdpi.com/2992914 #mdpipathogens via Pathogens MDPI

Morning glory covered in rust set along a fence line with a cotton field as a backdrop. The rust pustules appear on the underside of leaves, often turning the leaves completely orange. Light-colored spots will also appear on the upper surface of the leaf #Rust #Morningglory

Hot of the press! Black root rot pathogen population & its mating types distribution are now available. It took 5yrs to have the pathogen collection across NSW for this spatial and temporal study. Thanks CRDC NSW Agronomy for supports 🙏 link.springer.com/10.1007/s13313…

Amazing #Cotton We set up a pathology assay to destroy the leaf, but after 40 days it regenerates. It’s a failed assay anyway 😂

Both #Fusarium isolates were from Australian cotton, but associated with different symptoms. Hence, they are distinct. Another great work from our Fusarium guru Donald Gardiner link.springer.com/10.1007/s13313…
