Congratulations Rebecca Boyd! It was great to attend the launch on Friday. Rebecca has previously worked with us on the Lake Settlement Project (buff.ly/3Ub5nyP) and has now released this new publication on Viking-age settlements in Ireland. Looking forward to reading!

I'll be in Dublin next weekend to speak to Institute of Archaeologists of Ireland (IAI) members. Much of my research is based on developer-led archaeological discoveries and I'm really looking forward to speaking about how we can interpret the data after it comes out of the ground.

Come to Leicester next September to hear all about medieval urban lives. Better yet, submit a paper to Professor Ben Jervis ([email protected]), by Friday 31st January 2025. ECRs working on urban archaeology and contributions from commercial archaeology particularly welcome.

🏘 We chat to Rebecca Boyd about her brilliant book, Exploring Ireland's Viking-Age Towns: Houses and Homes (Routledge). From an overview of Scandinavian urbanism in Ireland, we get right down to the sights and sounds of street level in #Viking Dublin! youtu.be/YaHIQwu1oUA?si…
