👏 Na 2 jaar grondige restauratie is de Menenpoort in Ieper weer volledig in gebruik. Prinses Claire is vandaag, in vertegenwoordiging van de Koning, aanwezig bij de plechtige opening, samen met Prinses Anne 🇬🇧 , voorzitster van de Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

Bij de Menenpoort herdenken we de 54.000 soldaten van het Gemenebest die tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog in België sneuvelden. Elke avond om 20 uur klinkt de Last Post als eerbetoon aan de geallieerde soldaten die in de regio van Ieper zijn omgekomen.
