Fascinating data here: only 30% of students have had an interaction with another student on campus outside of classroom activity. We have to accept that *we* have failed to maintain the social experience of university life. I think this is a root cause of many other problems.

Soon an ‘AI student agent’ could complete an asynchronous online course autonomously. This isn’t just about using ChatGPT for essays; it’s about handling all course activities from logging into an LMS, submitting assignments w.o any learner intervention. bit.ly/4hmjNW5

Because up/down is an Eulerian (spatial absolute) frame whereas left/right is a Lagrangian (body-relative) frame. Let's make both frames Eulerian: my head points to the sky and my right hand points North. In the mirror image, do my skyward and Northward gestures hold? Yes.

Always going to repost this kind of sentiment because universities are abandoning expertise in favour of skills. Skills advocates have poisoned our disciplines and undermined the rich expertise that was once found in our universities

Neal Geach Wayne Bradshaw Kane Murdoch Dr David C. Kellermann There've been some studies done on the correlation between student satisfaction and student learning. There is essentially none. Some good teachers are entertaining. Others are boring. Likewise bad teachers.

No meta-cognition without cognition. If you don't know anything, you can't think anything. ChatGPT and google can't do the thinking for you. Never could.
