Marking the momentous occasion, among other significant launches, I was delighted to inaugurate bio-repository for COVID19 clinical samples at ILS & dedicate to the nation ILS-IBSD Partnership Centre aimed at capacity building in NE region in field of advanced biotechnology.

From carrying out 500 viral genome sequencing to conducting 1.5 L+ RT-PCR tests, Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar has made tremendous contributions to fight #COVID19 I was pleased to address the 32nd foundation day of the premier institute advancing biotech R&D in India.

Scientists at ILS have been carrying out exemplary R&D work. In last 5 yrs, their efforts have resulted in 286 publications & 15 patents. I welcomed suggestion by my colleague, Min of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas #MoPNG, Sh Dharmendra Pradhan Ji to setup Centre-of-Excellence on Marine Biotechnology at ILS.
