The late Arno Penzias often said "Most people get Nobels for things they were looking for, we got one for something we were trying to get rid of!" 🙂

Integrating teaching and learning with Google's suite of software is one of the most positive developments in the use of computer software and hardware to deliver productivity and innovation I have ever experienced in any workplace or education setting. docs.google.com/presentation/d…

Flying from the UK (sorry for the CO2...) we're unable to bring our own bus, so CERN provides DHSBoys' Physics Tour #DHSBCEW with a nice coach to get from the Visitor Centre in Switzerland to the Accelerator Control Centre in France.

My tweets for DHSBoys #DHSBCEW today include some written and posted in different countries, as our CERN bus crosses the border with only a slalom to slow drivers entering CH from France. Devon students are witnessing this is easier than crossing the Tamar from Cornwall.

#DHSBCEW DHSBoys loving the mouettesgenevoises.ch/en/ taking us across the lake from Geneva Hostel, all free of charge with our travel pass funded by the Geneva Tourist Tax. Perhaps UK cities will be allowed to introduce similar schemes soon e.g. Plymouth to Saltash.

#DHSBCEW DHSBoys comparing with CERN, Geneva's Museum of the History of Science & Technology shows how our ability to observe, measure, and decorate buildings, has changed in the past century or two.

#DHSBCEW DHSBoys after mind-blowing tour of United Nations, the broken chair is being renovated but the famous random fountains provide the usual entertainment after a hot and humid day.

To round off our Physics trip, a superb welcome and briefing from our Megabus Falcon bus driver including a scientifically accurate explanation of the benefits of seat belts. Good to be on final leg of our journey back to DHSBoys at the end of #DHSBCEW

This evening I have been challenged and inspired by reading both Adam Boxer 's very pragmatic and classroom-focused exhortation and IoP's fundamental review of what physics education could (or should?) be all about - iop.org/about/publicat…

So much fuss about Bovaer which is reported to have zero concentration in human diet, while we get up to 5g per week of microplastsics including many toxins and possible carcinogens. Who stands to gain from attacking dairy and promoting plastics/oil? pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC84…

Wind power has cut £104bn from UK energy costs since 2010, study finds. Reduction comes from energy generated from windfarms and lower cost of gas owing to lower demand theguardian.com/environment/20…
