Alhamdulillah! Excited to be part of the Wellcome-funded AeDST-HORN project! We’re developing mathematical models to forecast dengue and chikungunya patterns in Somalia, Kenya, and Ethiopia, powering online decision tools for risk-based surveillance and control.

Our study marks the first molecular identification of Ehrlichia minasensis in camels, goats, sheep, and cattle from Somalia, and the first detection of E. ruminantium in Somali cattle. These findings call for urgent tick control and surveillance efforts. #Tick_borne_disease
