This morning an students in Economics class at The School at Marygrove shared their personal and community stories about the impact of redlining in Detroit and advocating for real solutions to repair the injustices of the past. It was phenomenal!

Live from Belle Isle! DPSCD FIELD DAY!!!! Today 100 DOSCD middle school students are participating in 8 physical activity and health stations.

The WL dept is hosting their 2nd annual World Languages in the D in collaboration with the Michigan World Language Association. The day is geared towards all southeastern Michigan WL teachers to learn with and from DPSCD WL educators on cutting edge language instruction.

Yesterday, the Curriculum and Instuction team welcomed teachers to PD sessions at various locations across the city. While there were several highlights a big one was having author Jessica Nabongo welcome Social Studies teachers who will be using her book to teach Geography!

New Media Center alert! Today Mason Academy hosted the ribbon cutting for their media center makeover. Scholastic sponsored the makeover in partnership with the Council of Great City Schools. Mason received over 60,000 new books as a result!
