I bed your pardon, Twitter. Over the last 24 hours or so, I have been dealing with an internal dialogue. And I have decided, I must speak. For all my public profile may state otherwise, I am just one man. A simple man, who loves my country.

I do not claim to be a perfect man; nay a great man, nay even a good man. I have taken liberties with many inside my profession. Rest assured, I am the last person to be a paragon of virtue of any kind. But over the last 24 hours.... I have questioned everything I stand for.

I am a proud British man. I wear a Union Jack on my jacket, a Union Jack on my ring trunks. This nation colonized much of the world. But do you understand what that means? That means people, people born in America, the Carribean, Africa, Asia... these people are as British as I.

By spreading our lands, our culture throughout the world... we should have created something beautiful. A global nation, a global culture, where we can all stand as one and be proud to be British. But the last 24 hours have proved, beyond doubt, that this is not the case.

The actions of people, who would fly the banner of my nation... racially and viciously abusing men, for the act of missing a penalty kick in a sporting tournament... I find you physically disgusting. You portray an evil that reflects on all of us, and it is vile.

I may not be a saint. I may not be a good person. But I refuse to share a banner with these sick fucks. For the forseeable future, I will be abandoning all British logos and paraphernalia on my ring gear and my brand. Until such a time I can show pride once again.

I thank you for allowing me this tirade, and care to remind you that many of my kin, are good tolerant people. But we must make a stand. Because hate MUST NOT WIN. Thank you Twitter, and good day.
