Pest management 101 Your aim is to reduce negative impacts. Reduce predation, competition and disease spread. Make these your measures of success, not how many animals you killed.

This cat is #uncontained Shouldn't matter if it's #feral or #owned, what matters is that it is free to kill wildlife and spread disease.

A northern brown #bandicoot out and about between predator 'visits'; quolls, foxes, cats and dingoes all pass through this location.

Young #dingo (last year's litter). Probably looks a bit skinny around the ribs and hips to domestic dog owners but this is typical condition for early autumn (when pic was taken).

This poor #quoll is trying to walk with her babies hanging off her all over the place... They can have up to six doing this; exhausting!

Friday was my last day at CSIRO. It's been a blast chasing that challenging goal of how to do biodiversity conservation effectively in a world increasingly impacted by global environmental change. Thank you to all who have been part of this work and the impact it has delivered.

Yes, sheep are prey for #dingoes. Many native fauna are too. The #dingo fence still plays an important role but public views about dingoes, and their management, are more heterogeneous than they once were. As for dingo, fox, cat interactions; it's not as simple as you suggest.

All too common at the moment, #feralpigs in multi-generational mobs. These three had at least another 10 with them. This is about 1km above sea level on a 'dry' ridge.

This is an excellent chart giving a rough indication of the risks associated with walking and exercising/play outside for dogs at various temps. Still seeing dogs being dragged along panting in 30 degree temps.
