This charming conical flask-carrying robot was created by a 3D printer capable of printing with multiple different materials, at a speed and level of detail that was previously impossible. And in the future it could have some, well, slightly more useful applications...

Alex the robot had a bit too much at our #improbotics premiere party last night 🥳 However, his transistors have cooled down and he’s ready for our show with tonight at improstudion #stockholm 011-010-001 Improv!

Hi Stephen Gray and Michael Lichten 👋 Good question about promoter naming in #yeast! There are no formal “rules” by SGD/yeast community for designating promoters & terminators. We have found the following conventions in use, and would appreciate folks to follow one of these:

✔️Communism & Socialism - Halfway through our weekend workshop on Peter Frase's Four Futures. Thank you for sharing your imagination and sparking our lively discussions! Finishing with Rentism and Exterminism today - will probably need a few days to recover from "future anxiety".

Got 5 min? SGD needs your help! Saccharomyces Genome Database is in jeopardy (see: doi.org/10.1242/dev.20…). The time to speak up is now. The NIH survey takes only a couple minutes to complete, and could preserve funding for important resources like SGD: surveymonkey.com/r/5NGLNNJ.
