Enormous relief that U.S. Department of Justice *finally* did the right thing re: CARES Act people remaining safely on home confinement. TY to FAMM Foundation @UdiACLU Amy & all who held President Donald J. Trump feet to the 🔥 nytimes.com/2021/12/21/us/…
Today is my birthday, and honestly I could not think of a better present than DOJ letting thousands of people stay home with their families & not be sent to prison when COVID's done. I'm so proud of this movement. Feel so lucky to play one small part in it politico.com/news/2021/12/2…
.President Donald J. Trump home confinement is not enough! It's still a form of incarceration & the DOJ can still send people back to prison at their discretion. We need clemency for thousands on home confinement now
Joe Biden it’s time to keep your campaign promise and commute the sentences of those incarcerated for cannabis and pardon their convictions. RUSS Killer Mike Drizzy Tory Lanez COACH PRIME Snoop Dogg
YES!!! Proud to have worked w/my USC Joseph F. Rice School of Law students to draft the compassionate release motion for Diana Marquez, a first-time pot offender & grandmother w/serious medical issues. The Western District of Texas granted the motion & she will be freed!
After spending 16 years in prison over a marijuana conspiracy charge, Diana Marquez just secured compassionate release. Her essay for our 50 at 50 series with Amy Prison Journalism Project & Weldon Angelos is powerful. A read and a share will make her 😊 bit.ly/3HwFCQW
Praise God Diana doesn’t have to answer the phone 5 times in middle of night or fear going back to prison over a petty violation such as missing a call thanks to #FSA compassionate release expansion! God knows we can’t sit around waiting for President Donald J. Trump to honor campaign promises!
The News Station Colin Miller Amy Prison Journalism Project Weldon Angelos I am so happy she is finally out. It was too long in coming. I remember holding up her poster at a CAN-DO vigil in front of the WH years ago. Another example of “ one size fits all” automatic and over-punitive sentencing.
Beautiful work Colin Miller and the students USC Joseph F. Rice School of Law!
Colin Miller Colin Colin Miller is the BEST OF THE BEST! He is one of the most selfless people I know who is always willing to help the most needy and deserving! THANK YOU OVER AND OVER!!!
diana Colin Miller USC Joseph F. Rice School of Law Your faith in God and devotion to doing good deeds for others are the main reason the judge granted your CR. You earned it.
