This weekend our Atlanta International School music department returned to the WorldStrides Orlando Festival for a weekend of music making and bonding. I am always impressed by the team spirit that exists within our community of student musicians and that we can celebrate our success together.

Today, we had that "joy of learning" moment! All of the film students had a private showing of Creed III and got to see their own MYP/DP Film teacher, Ms. Colston in the credits! AISLearns #aislearns

While leading this MYP Arts Cat 2 workshop, we are thinking about #atlskills in #myparts by creating paper toys called "flextangles." So fun! Enjoying the exchange of learning with this amazing group of Minneapolis and St. Paul arts educators. Tutorial:youtu.be/77J0AZtoVpQ

A few photos from our Spring Concert for Band, Orchestra and Choir. Students explored the statement of inquiry: Our identity evolves when we lead and overcome boundaries. Students studied independence, responsibility & "reaching" to play challenging music. #AISlearns #mypmusic

Who says beginning band students can't improvise?! At the end of class we wondered, "Can we use 2 notes to make a tune?" This was completely student led with no direction from me. The focus and collaboration is incredible. #mypmusic #myparts #AISlearns

I watched this interview live and will be sharing it with my students. Can you think of a better example of #growthmindset? It made me think of Trevor MacKenzie's, "Every time you fail you create a new synapse."

What an inspiring group of #mypart educators from La Châtaigneraie @EcolintGeneva. Today during some unit planning, they wondered about how the arts could influence ways of learning & thinking in other subjects. And boom! This article in the NYT today: nyti.ms/3M12POt

G10 #myptheatre students devised a piece, "Lord of the Flies Meets the Boys from Ata." It was a compelling work, evoking themes from both stories and bringing the author's voice into our understanding of perspective. Congrats to Ms. Hirsch & her students šŸŽ AISLearns #aislearns
