Candidate Garth Steek calling us ā€œViolent Cityā€ in his strange soliloquy at city hall this morning reminds me of Trump’s ā€œAmerican Chaosā€ moment. Can we have better candidates please? šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

Think Portage and Main.. šŸ¤” oh wait we don’t need internet trolls for that. We have mayoral candidates exploiting divisions šŸ˜… Jenny Motkaluk

How an associate professor is confused about this is beyond comprehension.. could it be the 2 opposition councillors who motioned for a plebiscite on a budget item šŸ¤” or the mayoral challengers hinging their campaigns on identity politics šŸ¤”

Not a big fan of referendums to open intersections, but if it were clear & voting was allowed for kids, I'd love to see the result. For example, I'd like to hear from everyone under 18 which of these 2 they would choose. Its their future after all, not mine. #PortageAndMain

I’ll give Brian a shot. But deep down this is terrifying if you’re someone who believes in infill growth. Brian was also publicly against opening P&M. He will have far reaching ability to influence the agenda Re: how we accommodate growth over the next few years.

The Assiniboia community committee just rejected this modest 7-unit infill in Charleswood. Coupled with the Municipal Board rejected 199 units Old Fellows Home project and the likely to be rejected 58 units at 490 Shaftesbury, Charleswood is #closedforbusiness #wpgpoli

This is such a lazy take. While mid-rise buildings work well on main roads with services like transit, placing them "everywhere" including on quieter streets in peripheral areas without amenities undermines the credibility of infill as a tool for sustainable planning and growth.
