On this gorgeous summer afternoon, I joined hundreds of attendees at the Myagdi Samaj picnic at Gunpowder Falls State Park. Many of these Nepali residents were part of the first large wave of immigrants from that country who settled in Baltimore County in the 1980s and 1990s.

It was a pleasure this afternoon to speak before dozens of members of our local AARP chapter that serves northeastern Baltimore County. I have often said that seniors are among the most engaged citizens, and today was no exception.

Such a beautiful morning for a playground dedication! Today, we "cut the ribbon" on the Loreley Community Center playground in White Marsh. The Orioles-themed colors add a vibrant splash to this park. The multipurpose court and walking trail are also being improved.

Parks and recreational spaces are essential to healthy and sustainable communities. I was happy to celebrate the ribbon cutting on the Loreley Community Center in White Marsh today. In addition, the multipurpose court and walking trail are also being improved at this site.

This evening, I joined Adam's Light at the vigil in honor of International Overdose and Fentanyl Awareness Day. Thank you to all working to help those in need, support families, and eliminate substance abuse.
