Not a bad running view today 🙂. And I’m amazed that this deer wasn’t afraid of me and we actually “hung” out together for a while. In Dubai, we only have camels so deer and even squirrels are amazing to us!

Today is our 17th Sandiversary! It marks the anniversary of the day we first stepped foot on the sand of the Arabia and moved to the Middle East. This is our family immediately exiting the Dubai airport on August 23, 2008. We are amazed at all that God has done in these years!

Exactly 17 years after the three of us landed in Dubai, we dropped Aliza off Covenant College to begin this new season of life. We are excited for what’s next for her at school and Covenant Softball

It’s our last week in the US before heading back to Dubai. I have to eat as many enchiladas as I can. Any guesses on where these enchiladas are from?

We have no Blue Bell in Dubai. It’s very sad. But friends, this is too much. At Walmart this week not only do I find Blue Bell but all these crazy amazing flavors. How does anyone accomplish anything when there is so much ice cream to eat?

Packed house for the Covenant Scots first volleyball game of the year. It was incredibly loud in the gym. I loved the school spirit!

It’s been a blessing to get time with Henry and Michelle Dawson in the Chattanooga area. We have so much history with our dear college friends. We’re thankful to have close friends in this part of the world.

Elizabeth Stone on how parenting changes you: "It’s to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.” This is how I feel. We’ve dropped Aliza off at Covenant College. We’ll be 7,555 mi away. It’s a surreal, sad, & exciting feeling all wrapped up in one.

It was great meeting up with author and professor, Hans Madueme Covenant College before heading back to Dubai. What an amazing theological scholar and godly man.

It was wonderful to be back with our church family Redeemer Dubai today. It’s a privilege to be a part of such a loving congregation.
