Two weeks of staycation holidays. I left my laptop at home and am exploring west and north corners of Ireland. Since the beginning of the pandemic I struggled to unplug, and it seems like a new skill I need to practice more:)

As we are getting ready for the next #srecon21 I keep thinking on how many wonderful people I met thanks to this conference and how much I learned and how much more interesting my life became thanks to all those new connections and adventures! Thank you, #usenix!

As I was preparing my talk for AllDayDevOps my research took me to the field of cognitive load and neocortex size studies. And I suddenly realised how stretchable our capacity is with the right practice and a growth mindset! Today you are more effective and smart than yesterday!

If you are in a search for a new role, don’t just look for roles that map to your past experience. Look for roles that will help you to develop new experiences - think about your potential to grow and learn in the new role and if it will be fun to work with the new team

When you need to do something that requires a lot of focus and time (hours/days) - it maybe hard to start, so you keep #procrastinating. What I do is to tell myself I’ll only do 30 min of it and define what exactly I’ll do. Usually that’s enough to start and spend hours on it!

Your attitude and the potential to influence and inspire the rest of the team is much more important than the number of coding languages you can write “Hello world” on
