Completely missed that last month CONMEBOL announced a Women's Nations League, Liga de Naciones Femenina, to serve as their World Cup Qualifiers, which was normally done through the Copa América Femenina. All teams except hosts Brazil will participate in the single group format

Disgusting decision from the club, especially when the backlash was expected yet decided to proceed anyway, "aware and don't care" attitude to serious allegations

While I feel for local residents messed around, I do think it's important in areas that support smaller parties to elect those parties so that people understand that governance is fucking hard and that these parties, right now at least, lack the experience to govern nationally

🇦🇫 The Afghanistan women's refugee team have got the green-light from the FIFA Council to play international friendlies later this year. Many players fled to Australia after the Taliban's return in 2021 & have been playing domestic football under the Melbourne Victory umbrella.

It’s 2025 and somehow women’s teams are still footing the bill for men’s bad money moves. Imagine winning everything, turning a profit, and still being told to cut costs because the guys overspent. Same story, new year. Barca femeni left with 17 first team players - is wild! 👀

The number of people that seem to make a point of not caring about women's sports to me at almost every opportunity is weird

🚨 Chelsea & the club’s players have decided to give an equal portion of club’s $15.5m Club World Cup bonus fund (around $500k per player) to family of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva following tragic death of the two brothers this summer. ✍️ Adam Crafton Absolutely amazing stuff

The first game is always the biggest moment, remember what it felt like when Surrey finally took to the field, can imagine how big it must have been to take to the field against a FIFA member in a debut 🇲🇭

Expansion has been slow, but a team in Montreal is a big step, ideally a second expansion team to bring the league to an even 10 would be ideal, but not guaranteed
