#WorldBookDay2024 - very on brand, but I loved reading Peter Brown's 'Journeys of the Mind' recently. A wonderfully written ode to the joys of learning and the relationships we build along the way. Also enjoyed discovering that Jocelyn Toynbee had a cat named 'Mithras'

Prize for 'the best cover art on a historical fiction novel about the short-lived usurpers of late fourth century Britain' definitely goes to Alfred Duggan's 'The Little Emperors'. The yellow cover is 👨‍🍳😘

Delightful evening listening to David Breeze discussing the life and works of the founding father of Hadrian's Wall studies, John Collingwood Bruce, just a few yards from the memorial to the man himself in Newcastle Cathedral (he's buried in Jesmond Cemetery)
