If you are a medical manager, be more Chris. The Specialist role allows organisations to recognise seniority within their SAS workforce, empowering doctors to work at the level of their potential. It is an opportunity to retain doctors and create additional senior colleagues.

The UK is trying to sort it’s workforce crisis. Lots of effort being put into trying to create more Consultants but don’t forget that Specialists can work autonomously in a specific area and therefore may be able to fill that gap that your dept desperately needs! #SASByChoice

I love to see this. A career as a SAS doctor should be full of opportunity, and achieving your potential in leadership and management roles should be the norm. For every SAS leader, there are a dozen who do not realise these roles are open to them. They are!
