Horrible news from Washington, where the southern company that bought Oregon's Pamplin papers and is now trying to get hold of the Oregon papers owned by EO is now trying to cut the Everett NewsGuild ✊ in half and lay off dozens more Washington journalists. seattletimes.com/opinion/big-la…

Gooooood morning, Everett Herald readers! Please support our strike by refusing to cross the picket line. Do not read or engage with Everett Herald today. And if scab workers from Carpenter Media Group contact you, please decline to provide an interview. ✊✊✊

Thank you to everyone who marched with us this morning. Your support means more than we can express. We will be back out picketing at 41st and Colby at 2pm! ✊

This afternoon, Sunriver Fire and Police responded to a 1957 Piper, prop airplane that had its front landing gear collapse upon landing at Sunriver Airport. Damage to the plane and minor damage to the runway, but fortunately, there were no injuries!

Good morning! Remember us? We're finally back to the bargaining table with Carpenter after waiting two weeks for their bargaining team to return from vacation. In that time we've put together a comprehensive contract and layoff proposal, which is now in the company's hands.

Carpenter Media, which bought Pamplin and promptly laid off Oregon journalists, is set to take over EO Media next month. Oregonians deserve better than this.

EO Media Group announced today that the company is being sold to Carpenter Media Group. We are immensely disappointed not to be locally owned anymore.

Carpenter Media Group has agreed to purchase EO Media Group, which owns The Bulletin, the Redmond Spokesman and 10 other publications, effective Nov. 1. bendbulletin.com/localstate/car…

And in a bad practice reminiscent of Carpenter trying to censor an Everett Herald article about layoffs this summer, a Bulletin article about the sale that included info about upcoming layoffs of mailroom employees has been replaced by a press release. kuow.org/stories/everet…

Carpenter Media presented the NewsGuild with a new wage proposal today, the company's first in about six months. It is, frankly, insulting. Perhaps most egregious, the company proposed $1.00 an hour bonus for "meeting newsroom minimum standards of 2-3 bylines per day."
