2nd Community Coach Developer course completed. 26 coach developers over the 2 days at different stages of their learning participated in theory and practical components. Lots of great discussions and observations throughout. Great groups taking coaching forward in Victoria.

Age appropriate? 🤔 Do u9s really need a 20 minute pre match team talk on tactics and team targets? Or have they forgotten what you said after the first 60 seconds? Even at academy level. 8 year olds are 8! 🙈

So much pressure and expectations are put on our kids when they should be having fun. Adults, please step back and let the kids play. Play=fun

Take home messages from Prof. Keith Davids. “Coaches are not instructors, but more designers of environments for players to engage in”. #MotorSkillsConf19

Listening to various podcasts/webinars and struck by people valuing ‘takeaways’ and ‘nuggets’ of information above critical reflection. Coaching is not cut and paste, we need to improve thinking, not just copy the practice of others

Good to see the Olympic spirit is going strong with US fans after Aus women won the 4x1 relay. Quick legal changeover by an opponent is cheating apparently. Wonder if US had won with quick change, it would have been ’within the rules’ and great skill.

Such an honour to coach a fantastic group of determined, open-minded Altona Magic SC senior players. 7 wins from 8 and 5 in a row after beating Oakleigh. The might of South Melbourne is the next challenge for the boys to try to get to finals. Fun with Jonesy in the journey so far.

The Altona Magic SC journey continues with a hard fought win vs Bentleigh Greens and a Green Gully loss means this great group of players will experience finals. Fighting the odds.
