I see trainees give prognosis ("days to weeks") immediately after "how much time I have left?" It is crucial (and awful) information, and has to be delivered carefully (and as best as possible). Things I pay attention to (mini thread) When they ask "how much time?" 1/

There is nothing "mild" about a variant leads to hospital staffing shortages, longer ED wait times, canceled procedures, and healthcare worker burnout.

Omicron is not mild. It is just that vaccines work. The unvaccinated are still becoming critically ill and the strain on the healthcare system affects everyone trying to seek care.

With the seismic shifts of the past week, I find these words inspired by Maya Angelou comforting. “Climb, speak, try anyway”. Adding rest, recharge, REGROUP, then 🔁. 2022 is a marathon. Plan accordingly.
