Prior to #EBPS2024 I am here at UCalgary for a research day. First up Ziva Cooper gave a fascinating talk on the many projects she is working on. We learned about the impact of D9-THC, CBD, Myrcene and B-Caryophyllene on pain and how they interact with each other #Cannabinerds

Next up, fellow de Wit lab alumni Gillinder Bedi discussed the (many) ways that this is not the end for MDMA assisted therapy and how the whole process can be improved upon to support everyone!

Last but not least Fred Barrett described a whole host of trials with Psilocybin along with the incredibly complex MDD/AUD clinical trial currently underway at Johns Hopkins Psychedelic Research Center. Fascinating work with some really interesting prospective effects

Our second keynote comes from psychedelic mechanism extraordinaire Alex Kwan 關進晞. Work from Dr. Kwan’s lab explores the underlying mechanisms of psychedelic drug action, getting down to the receptors and cells responsible for behavioural outcomes and neural plasticity #EBPS2024
