9/11 changed the world, it also changed me…. Memories good and bad for what happened after. But proud of those I served with.

Facebook reminds me that today marks 6 years of RGLI Memorial Rides! Thank you to everyone for helping, for the laughs, the tears. We have, more than anything, all contributed to remembering the men of the RGLI and the people of Ville De Masnières they fought to protect.

Delighted that the Kukri I carried on Op Herrick as CO 2 Sig Regt has been loaned to Himalayan Kitchen Guernsey. The people of Nepal (and their Gurkhas) are the best of friends and loyalists of comrades to us.

When you go home, tell them of us and say, For your tomorrow we gave our today. Cross Keys from Imphal/ Kohima to Afghanistan. Op Herrick 17 was the last time the Cross Keys flash was worn on operations and I had the privilege of commanding 2 Signal Regiment… Lest we forget

Our Maddie has crossedthe Rainbow Bridge. 9 years old so far too soon. Years of laughter, bouncing, snuggling. A truely gentle soul. She fought to stay with us yesterday until we could all be with her at the vets. Then seeing the last of her pack had arrived she gently passed.

Beyond the insult to those who served, died or were wounded… It is an utterly shameful slight on the families we left behind… I remain proud of those I served with; whether they were British, US or other Allied Nations. I’m sure they were thankful we fought with them.
