Just got back from Smoky Mountain National Park. Tennessee has a $500 fine for littering. Remarkably, or probably not, the roads were amazingly litter free.

Crab Orchard Lake is having a clean-up Sept. 18. Because the lake level has been dropped for spillway repairs, vast areas of shoreline are exposed, affording an rare opportunity for a thorough cleaning. If you can help, call 618-997-3344, ext. 1, to reserve a spot.
