This kind of messaging genuinely makes me so angry, by all means say you want to make raising a child easier but phrases like "out of pocket" are so crass. My child is not some expense on a balance sheet, she's a person I chose to bring into the world and am responsible for.

Hmmm let me guess - it's the fault of the right wing media and Farage lying? This used to be such essential listening but since Labour won it is just so utterly unlistenable because there is never any acceptance that anything but the smallest things are wrong with the government.

Hmmmm so RBG didn't bother collecting bins from our street last week, look up how to report this, oh......you can't, just have to hope at some point they turn up while everyone's bin overflows with a month of garbage. Good to see all that extra Council Tax going to good use......

For "unfair" rent rises read "any" rent rises. I thought the online safety act was badly drafted but this is bloody nuts. Tenants can't be evicted without falling three months in arrears and can refer any change in rent to a tribunal. It's an absolutely sick piece of legislation.

If I'm a landlord with a mortgage to pay I need at least a quarters worth of mortgage payments saved up as well as god knows how much float to wait for a gummed up tribunal just to stay afloat. Typical nasty interfering Labour government. Treading lightly on people's lives again.

Lovely experience for you, not mine definitely. I wasn't offered so much as a cup of tea in 48 hours and spent the night with my wife and a newborn on a single mattress. Obviously priority was rightly for mum and baby but your experience couldn't be further from mine as a father.

Sorry but for all the time I have for Paul this is a poor take. It's not about whether I get a return or not it's that I do the work and the state gets a bigger chunk of the fee than I do. That is just obscene in some people's eyes including mine.

If you ever needed an example of everything wrong with our politics this is it. Utterly short-termist thinking that makes zero sense, devaluing pension pots is surely one of the stupidest things a government can possibly do if looking to the long term.

All very "we have always been at war with Eastasia" from lickspittle toady Labour MPs today. So processing asylum claims overseas was horrific but these reforms are absolutely A-OK. How on earth they perform the mental gymnastics required baffles me.

The test of all of this of course is going to be if the electorate believes Labour is serious about any of it rather than just gimmicks to grab headlines and of course how far the reality of our awful legal system bites them in the arse.

So many left-leaning commentators professing articles about confiscating jewellery, etc are repulsive. You cannot be so stupid as to not realise those are exactly the articles Mahmood wants writing, if you have an issue with them take it up with the Home Sec who is driving them.

Precisely what many of us were so fearing from this government, brutal tax increases, destroying business and the job market and they don't get why they continually fail to create growth.

As usual squeezed middle end up getting screwed over. Rampant inflation, financially impossible to move home, zero chance of promotion as nobody is hiring, tax thresholds frozen so ever more in income tax, council tax continuing to spiral up. God it's depressing how shit they are
