Honored to be JPET (ASPET)'s Highlighted Trainee Author! š„³ If you're curious about the goals of my doctoral work and my recent publications, check out the bio (short, I promise!) below šš¼
*scrolls twitter* āOoohā¦OH HEY THATS ME.ā Very cool to stumble across my work being featured! Also, I know you shouldnāt play favorites, but that simple beaut is one of my favorite figures from my dissertation (read: hard fought) Thanks JPET (ASPET)!
So happy to see that Ed Yong is not here received a well-deserved Pulitzer! Also, LOVE to see this. Not just thanking his village, but including them in the prize moneyšš¼
Coming out of Twitter hibernation because I am SO excited to (finally!) be heading to North American Pain School! Very honored to be in this years class, and I cannot wait to meet everyone!
Enjoyed helping out with our North American Pain School quantitative sensory testing (QST) workshop! Somehow we made pain testing fun?? š #NAPainSchool
Canāt believe #NAPainSchool is already over and Iāve graduated from the ā22 class! Truly one of the most formative experiences of my career. Iām so grateful for the tireless North American Pain School crew and awe-inspiring #NAPSters (and now life-long friends!).
Weeks later and Iām still reflecting on everything I learned at North American Pain School. One of my favorites as a preclinical researcher was the QST workshop set up by Yenisel Cruz-Almeida (she, her, hers)ā¦so informative! Also learned I have a robust reaction to capsaicin, so guess #HotOnes isnāt in my futureš
The many faces of QST testing with @KhannaLabNYU (does this count as facial grimace? š) Aside from Rajās beautiful artwork, Iām still surprised that my sensitivity didnāt map directly onto the inflamed area! #NAPainSchool š·: Arvina Grahl
More #NAPainSchool highlights because Iām (finally) going through my photos. Our patient partners @JodiLB1969 Virginia McIntyre šØš¦šŗš¦ were incredibly impactful, and Iām so grateful for their insights! Also had an amazing debate team I could talk endlessly with about pain and opioids
One of the things Iām most grateful for is whoever assigned the roommates, because getting to know the brilliant gem that is Arvina Grahl was a truly wonderful part of #NAPainSchool š
Phenomenal defense today Gladys Shaw, Ph.D.! Congratulations Dr. Shaw!! š„³š„³
Congratulations MadScientist on truly beautiful (single author!) work!! šš¼š„³
Not all vertebrates regulate their #sleep-wake rhythm in the same way. Vassilis Bitsikas Alex Schier Biozentrum, University of Basel University of Basel discovered, that some fish donāt need #orexin to stay awake. This changes our understanding of sleep regulation. Current Biology ow.ly/fcja50QTmmy
