I met this man Tom today who set up a small private school in Staffordshire. They had 33 kids. Now they have 25. It is now hard for the school to survive. £6000 per year. Suddenly add on £1200 to fees cause of VAT and families have to drop out. Seems desperately unfair.😳

Pitting private against state is a serious misstep. Labour had the chance to take a more constructive approach with collaboration, striking the right balance, and learning from success wherever it’s found. Instead, they’ve fuelled division. Disappointing.
