We are pleased to see the growing interest in attending VoM2022. However taking into account this time of extreme uncertainties and sadness for Europe and the World we have been able to extend the abstract submission deadline please check the new dates: vom2022.org

Fresh from the press ! Cool work by Leandra Knecht and colleagues from the Lars Fieseler lab ZHAW shows that #Erwinia #amylovora #phage S6 requires bacterial #cellulose for infection and encodes a #cellulase to degrade it - recycling done the phage way ! doi.org/10.1111/1462-2…

If you are interested in phages interacting with wall teichoic acid of Staphylococci, check out our new preprint from the Andreas Peschel lab on S. epidermidis GroP wall teichoic acid glycosylation with glucose. biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…

Are you interested in bacteriophage-host interactions? - Please have a look at our recently published review on S. epidermidis phages: sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Thanks to @JanesKrusche Xin Du, Ahmed Elsherbini and Andreas Peschel

We discovered that S. epidermidis attaches glucose to its wall teichoic acids, which determines the binding behaviour of several bacteriophages. Now in mBio: journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/mb… Thanks to Andreas Peschel @JanesKrusche, Cristina De Castro, Christoph Mayer and others.
