Sunnyday Tap (4953 N Elston) is a Serbian dive with solid Serbian bar food and cheap beer. The bar has old 80s and 90s pictures captured in epoxy to relive the good old days. Not many spots like this anymore, go check it out and have a shot of slivovitz!

This time of year always calls for a stop at Simon’s Tavern (5210 N Clark) for their famous Glögg. Great neons outside, and lots of old school charm inside with the old bar and register. The old mural on the back wall has seen better days, but fun to look at still.

Bernice’s (3238 S Halsted) is a Bridgeport classic. Has a classic looking bar with tons of knick-knacks everywhere to stare at. It’s famous for their Stingo games and hosting good local music. Draws a mixed, friendly crowd from the neighborhood - it’s a good time here.

Angie’s Tavern (3700 N Kedzie) has been run by the gal herself, a sweet older Serbian woman, for more than 35 years. No frills, cash only with cold beers. The kitchen behind the bar is rented out, recently it’s been Ecuadorian. Has a working payphone too!

The C&A Tap at 744 S Dearborn St. This photo dates back to February of 1958 when a herd of 8 cattle en route to the Union Stock Yards broke out of the truck with one heading straight to the tavern. #FormerTavernFriday

I love this bar, and this is one of my favorite lunches they serve. You guys should get down there today!
