We often think of incarceration as something people live through and from which they can ultimately be released. But the reality is that time spent in prisons and jails can create a host of collateral consequences that haunt individuals even after release.

The system does not just punish incarcerated people. It hurts millions of families and children whose loved ones are behind bars.

I empathize with this writer. I’m trying to understand how to better help my son. At 7 years in, with 3 to go, he is long past the point of understanding that what he did was wrong. The rest is an exercise in futility & it’s really taking its toll on him. I feel sad for him.

I believe the only way to make #KariLake stop all the lawsuits and go away for good is for her to lose by many thousands of votes. So, let's make that happen!

Let us not forget all the incarcerated individuals given LWOP sentences as adolescents who also deserve a chance to come home.

Daily I interact with incarcerated individuals serving extreme sentences who have done everything to come home. We should be equal advocates for all those doing incredible work inside & outside. If you advocate for high profile cases please use that same advocacy for all.
