Personally, I still choose to believe: —in a love that transcends the world I see in my limited imagination, so that I can fully attend to the world as it’s given; —in mystical spooky stuff, like this whole lamb of God sacrificed for the world business, and thus some sort of

It’s Day 4 of our 135-mile march to Washington, DC to call for a ceasefire. Last night, we slept at a local church, where we stretched our legs and prepared for another pass into the Blue Ridge Mountains today. We are bringing our peace message straight to the U.S. Capitol.

We are marching 135 miles to Washington, DC to call for a ceasefire in Gaza. We have reached our 6th day of walking. We camped on a farm last night and rose early to hit the road. Today will mark the halfway mark of our journey for peace and justice. #Mennonites4Ceasefire

The hope of the Final Judgement is not that God will punish our enemies but that God will reconcile everything so there are no more enemies.

If you believe God is primarily interested in punishing, you’re going to spend your days looking for people to punish. If you believe God is primarily interested in loving, you’re going to spend your days looking for people to love. God is love.

As we arrive at the halls of power, our hearts are with the people of Gaza who have suffered so much from attacks with weapons of war supplied by our government. Enough! Our love must extend to ALL of God’s children. Ceasefire now!

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled wasn’t “convincing the world he didn’t exist”-but convincing the giant he’s the shepherd boy, the empire that it is the remnant, the many that they are the few, the mainstream that they are marginalized, the bullies that they are oppressed

This is excellent. Andrew Rillera has done something that the majority of books critiquing Penal Substitutionary Atonement fail to do - that is, critique the model without using what is essentially a reductionist or essentially “Marcionite”. And he’s made it readable too!

If your Christianity causes you to be offended by someone asking the most powerful person in the country to be merciful towards the powerless, then you have deeply, deeply misunderstood the teachings of Jesus Christ.
