Founded in 1998, CEHD America Reads is a literacy tutoring program that partners with community organizations across the Twin Cities. Students at the U of M train as literacy mentors to support K-8 students in reading skills, homework help, and educational enrichment activities.

We love to share our knowledge with you!

Literacy Mentors do you need ideas for tutoring, more supplies, or a quick snack between classes? Check out the Resource Room! Fall Resource Room hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 12-3pm.

Each semester we order new children’s books to be used for tutoring sessions! These books can be checked out by literacy mentors throughout the semester. We also share our full library at libib.com/u/americareads!

We are so excited to share our first book highlight of the semester! For National Hispanic Heritage Month we want to uplift Nana and Abuela by Monica Rojas. A bilingual story all about family and communication. Check it out from our library today!

We want to uplift Forever Cousins by Laurel Goodluck. This book highlights the ongoing impact of the 1950s Indian Relocation Act on families that is ongoing today. New to our library this semester you can check it out from our library today!

This week we want to uplift an interactive Halloween themed book, I Spy Spooky by Jean Marzollo! Available for check out from our library today!
