For the first time in years, black and white photos taken today are starting to resemble how the course looked a century ago — a sight that would no doubt bring a smile to the faces of Harry Colt and J.F. Abercromby.

A brilliant closing stretch that delivers every time — the long 16th, the short 17th, and the nervy 18th played right in front of the clubhouse. Perfect for a tight match.

Following its renovation 18 months ago, New Zealand's 18th green is looking more like the 1930s version of itself. Current conditions are definitely firm and fast.

Recent tree removal (seen here looking back down the 3rd) has allowed greensites to sparkle once more. Not only has it improved turf health and firm playing conditions, but it has also enhanced the vistas into the greens that Tom Simpson designed for us over 100 years ago.

There are events and then there are Spey Bay GC and they just hit a little different…. Ryder Cup 2025 is in full flow with lots of laughs both on and off the course!

Alister MacKenzie Institute Changed the game in Australia by showing us what good golf looked like. Otherwise we’d have been condemned to mediocrity. (If you doubt it, look at where he - or Alex Russell - didn’t go.)

We often talk about how little has changed since Abercromby's passing but the 3rd hole's tees were a newer amendment that didn't tie in well with the 2nd green. This new solution is closer to what existed originally and offers many more options.
